Tropane and pyrrolidine alkaloids from Convolvulus lanatus Vahl.

چکیده
The alkaloid composition of Convolvulus lanatus was investigated by GLC and GLC-MS. Altogether, thirteen tropane and pyrrolidine alkaloids were identified on the basis of mass spectral data and/or Kovats retention indices. Twelve of them have been recorded for the first time in this plant and some of these alkaloids were identified for the first time in the genus Convolvulus. Cuscohygrine is the major constituent. Qualitative and quantitative differences of root and aerial parts are discussed.

Tropane alkaloids and toxicity of Convolvulus arvensis.
Horses in a few, localized northern Colorado pastures exhibited weight loss and colic. At post mortem, intestinal fibrosis and vascular sclerosis of the small intestine was identified. The pastures where the affected horses grazed were overrun by field bindweed (Convolvulus arvensis). Bindweed from the pasture was found to contain the tropane alkaloids tropine, pseudotropine, and tropinone and ...
متن کاملSynthetic Studies of Alkaloids Containing Pyrrolidine and Piperidine Structural Motifs
Our molecules of interest were mainly 2-substituted pyrrolidine and piperidine alkaloids containing 1, 3-aminoketone and 1, 3-aminoalcohol units which are of special synthetic interest (Figure 1). Hygrine and norhygrine belong to the class of tropane alkaloids. The rest of the alkaloids are isolated from 60 species of the genus Sedum and are usually referred as Sedum alkaloids which are of imme...
متن کاملIdentification and determination of different alkaloids from Atropa belladonna L. by Gas chromatography method
Background & Aim: A. belladonna (family: Solanaceae) is one of important pharmaceutical plants which contain tropane alkaloids. Tropane alkaloids are distinct group of secondary metabolites of the Solanaceae family. The most important alkaloids of A. belladonna are atropine and hyoscine that are used extensively because of their medicinal properties. There...
متن کاملA Comprehensive Overview on Valuable Tropane Alkaloids: Scopolamine, Atropine, and Hyoscyamine
Tropane alkaloids such as scopolamine (C17H21NO4), atropine (C17H23NO3) and hyoscyamine (C17H23NO3) are the most important plant secondary metabolites in the pharmaceutical industry due to anticholinergic activity, competition with muscarinic receptors and also treating different human diseases. Scopolamine, hyoscyamine and atropine are the most important tropane alkaloids used as anticoagulant...
متن کاملAssessment of Morphological and Tropane Alkaloids Diversity among some Henbane (Hyoscyamus niger L.) Populations
Background: Black henbane with the scientific name of Hyoscyamus niger which has a wide geographic distribution, is considered as one the most important species for tropane alkaloids extraction. Objective: In this research, morphological and tropane alkaloids variations were assessed within different population of H. niger in their natural habitats. Methods: Totally, 56 individuals were colle...
